MILWAUKEE — Get ready to see more public art popping up around downtown Milwaukee in the coming weeks.

This summer Sculpture Milwaukee is installing several new works of art around the city. Wednesday crews began installing a work by Chicago based artist Salvador Jimenez-Flores along the Milwaukee River.

Jimenez-Flores was there as the piece was put on display. For him, it means a lot to get to share his art with others.

“I think that is the beauty of art in the public realm. The idea that the work becomes part of the city, part of the people who want to engage with it. For me that is exciting,” says Jimenez-Flores.

Many of the pieces put up in previous years will remain on display around the city. To learn more about the location of the sculptures, you can visit Sculpture Milwaukee’s website at https://www.sculpturemilwaukee.com/.
