MILWAUKEE — The Jewish Museum Milwaukee is now back open to visitors and they have several new exhibits on display.
The museum is putting several safeguards in place to protect visitors from COVID-19. They include asking all guests to walk through a thermal temperature scanner when they enter the building. Also, they are requiring visitors to wear gloves if they plan to use any of the interactive exhibits.
A new exhibit on display at the museum is called Designing Justice, and features the work of artist and graphic designer Luba Lukova. The New York based artist is known for creating posters that focus on social justice issues such as income inequality, poverty, and other social issues.
Lukova says she enjoys getting to focus on current events and frame them through an artistic lens.
“For me, I very often think about things that I see in the news, they stay in my head, in my mind for a moment and then they come very fast in an image,” Lukova tells Spectrum News 1.
In addition to the Designing Justice exhibit, the museum also has a new display dedicated to Bob Dylan’s literary contributions to social justice. For more information about both exhibits, as well as safety precautions being put in place, you can visit Jewish Museum Milwaukee’s website.
