MADISON, Wis (SPECTRUM NEWS) -- A Madison area non-profit focused on supporting kids with down syndrome is holding a unique virtual fundraiser to help pay the rent and keep providing free online programming.

In total, 60 GiGi’s playhouse —including all three sites in Wisconsin —  partnered up with a plan.  GiGi's Playhouse Madison Site Manager Kelly Antonson says the goal for the Madison location — to raise $15,000.

"'Step to Accept' and it is a virtual run, walk ride, practice yoga whatever you want to do to get moving, to bring acceptance to all," Antonson said."Our mission at GiGi’s playhouse is to change the way the world views Down Syndrome and to bring acceptance to all," she added.

The fundraiser is especially important as other events were canceled due to the pandemic.

"We are 100% non-profit, we are 99% volunteer-run and all of the program we offer here are free to families and will always be free," she said. "So no matter what they are doing, they don’t have to pay for it."

So far, Madison's GiGi's has 13 teams participating. You can learn how to sign up for 'Step to Accept' on Saturday, June 6th, here.
