JANESVILLE, Wis. (SPECTRUM NEWS)-- A Rock County 9-year-old is turning off the tv and spending her spare time going above and beyond to help the homeless in her community.

Paisley Krogman, with some help from her parents, created 'Paisley’s Pack’s' — an upcoming nonprofit — that provides necessary supplies to at-risk and homeless families.

'Because they wouldn’t have anything and I wouldn’t like that," Paisley said. ‘I know I wouldn’t want to be in this position," she added.

House of Mercy Manager Tammie King-Thompson says her shelter is grateful for one of the many donations, especially during this difficult time.

"Rock County alone there are 1,000 kids identified as homeless by our local school district, so to have one 9-year-old partner and say I want to do something, that just made my day," King-Thompson said.

She praises the little girl's kindness and compassion and her insight into the problem.

"Paisley is probably the youngest child I’ve ever met who realized the level homelessness in our community," King Thompson said.

'Paisley Packs' in desperate need of those little vinyl backpacks to continue the mission. They are also trying to supply as many masks as possible to those in need.
