It has been a hot week across the state. Some locales are hitting milestones we haven't reached in seven years.

What You Need To Know

  • Several Wisconsin cities saw their biggest heat streak in several years

  • It's officially been a heat wave in some places
  • 90 degree highs will take a break, for now

Well, I'm shocked and I'm bummed. Many parts of Wisconsin just went through the hottest stretch of weather we've had all year! So, if we're going to do that, we might as well make it historic, right?

Not quite.

In last week's blog, I talked about the potential for us to hit 90 degrees multiple days in a row. It happened in Green Bay and Madison. But Milwaukee... *just* missed out!

Let's break this down by each city.

Look at the highs for the last 7 days in Green Bay:

That's quite the heat wave for northeastern Wisconsin! And those five days in a row of 90s? That hasn't happened in a long time.

Okay, what about in Madison? Here are the last 7 days, including today:

I included today because the streak is still going! But I don't think it's going to last into tomorrow. So, that puts Madison at five days in a row.

Okay, now on to Milwaukee:

Oh! So much potential! And we barely missed going four in a row! I actually contacted the National Weather Service on Wednesday. They said we missed hitting 90° by a half degree. Wow.

Thus, no milestone for Milwaukee. But I tell ya, it was plenty hot. And that humidity sure didn't help!

What are the odds of going on another 90 degree run? I say it's highly possible, as there is plenty of July and August left to go.

Given how the year has been, I'd target July 29 through August 3rd. Keep those dates in mind and let's see what happens!

Until then, stay cool and stay safe.
