According to the Ohio Emergency Management Agency, there will be a statewide tornado drill at 9:50 a.m. on March 19.
As of this time last year, Ohio had already seen a rather destructive round of tornadoes. A set of nine twisters struck central Ohio last year on Feb. 28.
It was only a couple weeks later, on March 14, when another tornado outbreak tore through the state killing three people and injuring at least 20.
Many more tornadoes would follow, eventually leaving us with a record year. You can see the impact this had, county-by-county, here.
While we’ve been fortunate to avoid any tornadoes so far this year, it always pays to be prepared.
As tornadoes inevitably start rolling through this year (hopefully later rather than sooner), check back with Spectrum News 1 for our interactive 2025 tornado tracker.
