MILWAUKEE — With two weeks to go until the presidential election, the main Wisconsin polls averaged together by RealClearPolitics.com Tuesday all landed within their respective margins of errors, meaning it’s statistically a tie.
But are there any indicators outside of those polls which could forecast whether Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris or Republican former President Donald Trump will win the Badger State come Nov. 5?
“At this point, it really is a coin toss here in Wisconsin,” said Lawrence University professor of government Arnold Shober. “Again, as we’ve seen in the last few election cycles, we have [just a few thousand] votes that separate the candidates, whether that’s for president, for governor or for senator and the ground game is very important for that reason.”
Shober said that with just days to go to get out the vote, a lot of Wisconsinites should expect a lot of visitors and campaign ads in the run-up to Election Day.
“I think we’ll see another round of door-knocking, people going door-to-door trying to get those last couple marginal voters out to the polls,” Shober said. “I would expect the parties to focus in on those folks whom they think are leaning in their direction.”
