COLUMBUS, Ohio — Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Garden is celebrating spring with Columbus Blooms.
“So every day is different,” said Barabara Arnold, senior horticultural designer. "Everything has their own sort of time. So, today something may be blooming that’s not blooming next week."
Arnold has been with Franklin Park Conservatory for nearly 30 years now.
“Franklin Park has always been a great spot for spring,” she said.
Right now, the conservatory is hosting Columbus Blooms, a celebration of spring, but Arnold plans and designs the gardens the summer before.
“I wouldn’t call it a year,” she said. “It’s nine months.”
Arnold, of course, has her favorite flowers.
“I love any of the narcissus, so any of the daffodils. I think they’re fantastic,” she said.
But her favorite feeling is to see the people come and enjoy them.
“To me, the greatest honor we could have is to be the backdrop of someone’s life,” she said. “So they stop and they take photos…that’s an incredible honor that they chose that particular spot to get the tulips as a backdrop that is now a cherished memory for them.”
Columbus Blooms continues through early May.
They encourage visitors to check their Spring Blooms report on their website to know what they can expect to find on their visit.
