Autumn is a beautiful time of year in Ohio. Already we've seen the leaves changing to bright shades of yellow, orange and red. With plenty of dry days in your extended forecast, it's the perfect time to plan a fall day outdoors to take in all the scenery.
No matter where you are in the state, there are plenty of great spots to go leaf-peeping this month. Here's where you can catch all the vibrant fall hues by you.
If you're in the northern part of the state, don't delay in making those plans. Peak foliage will be this week. Grab a sweater and head to one of these popular spots for some leaf-peeping.
- Cuyahoga Valley National Park
- Rocky River Reservation
- Whipps Ledges
- Lanterman's Mill near Youngstown
- Pearson and Secor Metroparks near Toledo
Those that live in the center of the state will have a bit longer. You'll see peak color during the weeks of Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 (on the latter end the farther south you are), but starting next week, you'll get beautiful fall colors across the area.

The last week of October will be breathtaking across the southern part of the state. This is when peak foliage typically occurs here. Although most years still see vibrant colors into early November.
