Severe thunderstorms in eastern Ohio produced damaged buildings and trees on Thursday. Eight tornadoes have been confirmed so far, and more are likely.

The National Weather Service offices in Cleveland and Pittsburgh started surveying the damage areas on Friday morning. It may take a couple of days to finish and get complete details. The information is preliminary for now.

Mount Pleasant

This tornado was rated at EF-1. It damaged trees and barns, as well as siding to a house. Other information isn't available at this time.

Warnock

This tornado was rated EF-1. It damaged trees and a barn, and debris damaged nearby cars. Other information isn't available at this time.

Johnstown Township

This tornado was rated EF-0. It tracked through Trumbull County.

Wickliffe

This tornado was rated EF-1. It damaged homes and trees in the area. One home had significant damage. 

Trumbull County

This tornado was rated EF-1. The tornado tracked between Mecca and Cortland. 

Summit County

This tornado was rated EF-0. It tracked between Twinsburg and Hudson.

Hinckley Township

This tornado was rated EF-1. It started in the southwestern part of the township in the Turnstone Court neighborhood at 4:36 p.m. It damaged a garage door, roofs and siding there.

It then downed several trees near Stony Hill Road and caused additional tree damage on its path that ended in Cleveland Metropark's Hinckley Reservation. The tornado lifted at 4:42 p.m. near Stark State College.

This tornado was on the ground for about 2.5 miles and had a maximum width of 50 yards.

Jackson Township

This tornado was rated EF-1. It began just north of Jackson High School at 5:10 p.m. and tracked northeast. It ended at 5:15 p.m. 

It was on the ground for just under three miles and had a maximum width of 50 yards.

Our SkyCam in Akron caught the severe storms that produced tornadoes in northeastern Ohio.

Other tornadoes

Spectrum News 1's Tricia Stuckey took these photos of damage in Wickliffe Thursday evening.

 

Further reports from Wickliffe and the Hudson/Aurora area are expected. Early indications are that tornado damage also occurred in there.
