For many Ohioans, this is the time year we look forward to spending time with family outdoors. There's nothing like that opportunity to spend by the pool or around the grill, and for many of us, our opportunity for that is on the weekends.
This year however, the weather has been seemingly uncooperative. When we should have the chance to get outdoors and enjoy the sun, we've instead been greeted by gray skies and rain.
So just how long has it been since we've had a rain-free weekend?
For Columbus, if it seems like it's been forever, there's a reason. The last completely dry weekend we had was all the way back in February. Since Feb. 2-3, we've seen every weekend with at least a trace of rain. Far more than that fell this past weekend (June 15-16, with 0.42" and 0.69.")
In Cleveland, we haven't seen a rain-free weekend all Spring! The last dry weekend was March 16-17 and Spring officially began March 20.
Cincinnati has seen the brunt of the heavy rain the last few days, but you did get to enjoy one rain-free weekend June 1-2. Still, even with that dry weekend, 5.74" of rain has already fallen this month, with the average rainfall totals for this point in June only at 2.45".
Once again, Ohio, the chance for rain is back in the forecast this weekend.
