This amazing video shows a tornado move across the parking lot in front of Waynesfield Goshen High School in Auglaize County, Ohio. The tornado crosses at around 35 seconds into the video. You are almost given a view inside this twister as it crossed in front of the school. This tornado was weak, rated as an EF0 by the National Weather Service. However, as you can see, some damage was done to the high school. This same storm system later produced a stronger, EF 1 tornado near Kettlersville. The video was provided to Spectrum News 1 Ohio by Brian Shaw, the technology director with Waynesfield-Goshen Local Schools.
This tornado was just one of a major outbreak of tornadoes on Memorial Day. The National Weather Service as of Thursday afternoon has confirmed 19 tornadoes touched down in Ohio that day with some damage surveys still ongoing. During the outbreak, there were at least 130 tornado related injuries and one fatality. The fatality was reported in Celina, Ohio after an EF3 rated tornado moved through that area.
