3:35pm UPDATE: The National Weather Service says an EF0 tornado with winds as high as 85mph were responsible for damage in Clark County.

(PITCHIN / CLARK COUNTY, OHIO) Survey teams from the National Weather Service investigating storm damage near the community of Pitchin, Ohio have confirmed the damage was caused by a tornado. 

The damage occurred with a line of severe thunderstorms that moved through the area Thursday afternoon, February 7th, 2019. 

The team confirmed that damage in the area of East Jackson Road, Old Springfield Road, and Selma Pike Road in the Pitchin area was caused by a weak EF0 tornado. 

According to data compiled the the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness (OCSWA), there have only been a total 18 tornadoes reported in the month of February from 1940 to present.
