CENTERVILLE, Ohio — The City of Centerville in partnership with the Better Business Bureau will hold a "Secure Your ID Shred Day" this weekend.

The event will be held on Saturday at Routsong Funeral Home in Uptown from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event allows residents to securely dispose of files, such as credit card statements, old checks, IRS tax returns and more in a secure environment.

Centerville said residents can bring up to five boxes or bags of documents to be shredded for free. However, if you happen to have more than five boxes, you can just go through the line again.

The first 300 cars are guaranteed shredding. After that, people will be accommodated as truck capacity allows. Once truck meets capacity, the event will end.

Staples and paper clips are acceptable, but binders, electronic and batteries are not.
