OHIO — Ohio's May 6 primary is around the corner, and starting Tuesday, residents can start making their votes count. 

Early in-person voting begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday in the Buckeye State. Absentee voting by mail also begins Tuesday.

For the May primary, there is one statewide issue will be on the ballot: Issue 2, also known as the "Local Public Infrastructure Bond Amendment." If passed, the amendment would authorize $2.5 billion for the State Capital Improvement program, which would go toward local governments to help with infrastructure projects, such as road repairs. 

At local levels, there will be school levies, open seats for city councils, as well as police and fire levies.

Early voting hours

  • April 8-11: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • April 14-18: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • April 28: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • April 29: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • April 30-May 2: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • May 3: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • May 4: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
