CINCINNATI — Libraries get a quite a few returns each day, but one return took a local Ohio library by surprise.
The Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library said on social media it received a return after 98 years of being checked out.
The book, which was "Wild West" by Bertrand W. Sinclair, was checked out in 1926. It was replaced by the library a few years after the book had been borrowed. However, the borrowed copy is still in good condition and features a stamp card with dates from the 1920s.
The library said it had been discovered at home and returned. It's been readded to the catalog, so now there are two copies of "Wild West" available for checkout.
Luckily for whoever returned it, there was no late fine, as the library is late-fine free.
