TOLEDO, Ohio — The City of Toledo announced applications for the Parks and Recreation Youth Advisory Board will be open until April 15.
The board comprises of 12 to 18 students who are aged 14 to 18. Each student serves a two-year term, and they meet monthly to discuss the city park system. They contribute their perspectives, and the city said the board acts as a "decisive influence regarding various aspects" of the park system.
Throughout the two years, they learn about park operation, city government and will help focus on improving youth participation and attendance in their neighborhood parks.
They're also selected to serve as officers and lead board meetings.
