Members of the Syracuse Housing Authority say they are well on their way to getting people affected by the I-81 project relocated.
Spectrum News 1 learned during a regular authority meeting that the authority is using public housing's existing vouchers for residents who are ready to move. Right now, the group is mostly focused on people at McKinney Manor, but other people around the I-81 viaduct have the ability to come to the SHA with plans on if they will stay throughout the construction or relocate.
"We have those meetings, and we'll get those numbers and will help those families out in the process as well," said Housing Authority Executive Director William Simmons.
People facing relocation at Lattimer Terrace tell Spectrum News 1 that they have been struggling to find new housing.
