After much debate and controversy, Utica's common council approved a city budget Thursday.
The $91.4 million budget comes with a property tax increase of 3.13%.
The unanimous vote from the common council brought the tax hike down from Mayor Michael Galime’s proposed 9.77%.
The mayor now has four days to veto any amendments the council made to his budget.
According to a statement from DOCCS, the agreement will take effect upon at least 85% of staff returning to work.
The case appears to be the first instance of criminal charges against a doctor accused of sending abortion pills to another state.
This comes as the city continues to deal with a housing crisis.
