OHIO — The snow has moved out, but the cold air is here to stay. 

Frigid temperatures are expected to remain throughout the week, with wind chills dropping into the teens or even colder at times. 

Some Ohio cities have announced warming centers for residents to help them seek warmth:

Cleveland

The following centers in Cleveland will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. until Jan. 9:

  • Michael Zone Recreation Center, 6301 Lorain Ave., Cleveland
  • Lonnie Burten Recreation Center, 2511 E. 46th St., Cleveland
  • Collinwood Recreation Center, 16300 Lakeshore Blvd., Cleveland
  • Zelma George Recreation Center, 3155 Martin L. King Blvd., Cleveland

Cincinnati

The Over-the-Rhine Recreation Center will serve as a daytime cold weather shelter until Friday, Jan. 10. It'll be open from 6:15 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Starting Tuesday, all centers will serve as warming shelters during normal operating hours. A list of centers and their hours can be found here. 

Dayton

The following shelters will be open until Friday, Jan. 10 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

  • Greater Dayton Recreation Center: 2021 W. Third St., Dayton
  • Lohrey Recreation Center: 2366 Glenarm Ave., Dayton
  • Northwest Recreation Center: 1600 Princeton Drive, Dayton

The St. Vincent DePaul shelters are also open:

  • Men’s Shelter: 1921 S. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton
  • Women and Families: 120 W. Apple St., Dayton

Columbus

The City of Columbus has over 50 warming shelters that are open until March. Click here for shelters and their hours of operation.
