DAYTON, Ohio — Starting near the end of January, families who frequent Cincinnati Children’s Centerville will be able to receive pediatric primary care.

Cincinnati Children’s Centerville opened two years ago to provide specialty care for the Greater Dayton area.

  • Dr. Zenar Yohannes joined Cincinnati Children's in 2024 and will work with pediatric patients

  • The office is located at 6555 Clyo Rd.

“We’re expanding at this location in response to the demand we’ve seen from families in the Dayton area,” said Dr. Jeffrey Anderson, senior vice president and chief Population Health officer in a news release. “We’re pleased that Dr. Zenar Yohannes, a highly regarded pediatrician who has cared for children in the community for a decade, will lead primary care at our Centerville location.”

Beginning Jan. 21, Dr. Zenar Yohannes will see primary care patients at the Centerville location. To schedule an appointment, families can call 937-535-7880.

Yohannes joined Cincinnati Children's in 2024 after working as a pediatrician with Dayton Children's Hospital for six years.

“Every child deserves high-quality medical care, and Cincinnati Children’s Centerville has the expertise and resources needed to ensure that,” Yohannes said in a news release. “We want to make it easy for children to receive primary care close to home, including those who already visit medical specialists at Cincinnati Children’s."

Yohannes has provided care for Dayton-area children for the last 10 years, beginning as a resident doctor at Wright State University from 2015-2018 where she provided outpatient pediatric care at Dayton Children's and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. From 2021-2024, she served as the clinical program director for Dayton Children's Pediatrics Northwest at the Hope Center for Families.

She will conduct regular health checkups, sick visits, preventative screenings and vaccinations.

“As a pediatrician – and, more importantly, as a mother myself – I know firsthand the importance of excellent primary care,” Yohannes said. “Making sure children are as healthy as possible – starting at a very early age – provides them with the best opportunity to excel on all levels, which ultimately positions them to lead successful and fulfilling lives. Every child is different in terms of personality, interests and needs, which is why getting to know each patient on an individual level is very important to me. My goal is to help families achieve overall well-being for their children. This includes physical health, emotional health and mental health.”
