There's always plenty to do in Ohio over the weekend, but Spectrum News 1 gathered some of the highlights around each major metropolitan area across the state.
Here's some of this weekend's events:
Cleveland
- When and where: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 4 at City Goods, located at 1442 West 28th St. in Cleveland
- Info: Purchase from local vendors, grab some food and even snag a cocktail at this event on Saturday
- When and where: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 4 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 5 at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, Hall A, located at 300 Lakeside Ave E in Cleveland
- Cost: Admission is free if you register online or is $10 at the door
- Info: Looking to make some home improvments? Consider stopping by the home show to do some shipping, meet with experts and find inspiration for that next project
Columbus
- When and where: 5 to 10 p.m. Dec. 4 and 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, located at 1777 E Broad St. in Columbus
- Cost: Tickets cost $26.50 for adults, $22.50 for seniors, $16 for children between 3 and 12 years old and free for anyone younger
- Info: It's already fun to walk through a botanical garden, but stay in the holiday spirit and walk through light displays and more as this daily event wraps up at the end of this weekend
- When and where: 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 4 on High Street in the Short North Arts District
- Info: This event occurs on the first Saturday each month and allows attendees to check out gallery exhibitions, food, drink, music and more
Cincinnati
- When and where: Jan. 4 and 5 at the Purple People Bridge
- Info: This is your last weekend to check out the Purple People Bridge lit up for the holidays until next year. The nightly event ends on Jan. 7
A Night at Hogwarts: The Music of Harry Potter
- When and where: 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3-4 and 2 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Music Hall, located at 1241 Elm St. in Cincinnnati
- Cost: Tickets for adults start at $25 and children tickets are $20 if purchased with an adult ticket
- Info: The music from the Harry Potter films is special to a great many people, and this is your chance to hear a live performance of the music from the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra
Dayton
- When and where: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 4 at Activity Center Park, located at 221 N Main St. in Centerville
- Info: Looking for a way to get rid of your styrofoam without adding to the landfill? This event allows participants to make a difference by recycling their styrofoam. At their last event in October, Montgomery County announced they filled two semi trucks with material
Photographer Vincent J. Musi: Where The Wild Things Are
- When and where: 3 p.m. Jan. 5 at the Victoria Theatre, located at 138 North Main St. in Dayton
- Cost: Ticket prices vary depending on seats, see website for details
- Info: Hear from photographer Vincent J. Musi on his experience taking photos for National Geographic for more than three decades
Toledo
- When and where: 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 4 at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Toledo, located at 444 North Summit St.
- Cost: General admission tickets are $59.95
- Info: Eat a meal and solve a mystery at this event, which the website says is "North America's largest interactive comedy murder mystery dinner theatre show"
- When and where: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 4 at 525 Market St.
- Info: The Toledo Farmers' Market, which started all the way back in 1832, is open every Saturday for shoppers to purchase local food and goods
