There's always plenty to do in Ohio over the weekend, but Spectrum News 1 gathered some of the highlights around each major metropolitan area across the state.

Cleveland

The Harlem Globetrotters

  • When and where: 3 p.m. Dec. 29 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse
  • Cost: Ticket prices vary, see website for details
  • Info: Catch the Harlem Globetrotters on the Cavs' court on Sunday as part of their 2025 World Tour

Holiday Pop-Up! Open Studio

  • When and where: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 26-29 in the Ames Family Atrium at The Cleveland Museum of Art
  • Cost: Free
  • Info: If you're looking for an artistic, family-friendly event, consider dropping by for open studio days for "free, drop-in art making sessions designed for the whole family, encouraging creativity and bonding through hands-on activities"

Columbus

Central Ohio Model Railroad Club Holiday Open House

  • When and where: 12 to 4 p.m. Dec. 28-29 at the Central Ohio Model Railroad Club, located at 6471 Proprietors Road in Worthington
  • Cost: Free
  • Info: Train lovers rejoice, as you can get free admission from noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday throughout December to the railroad club.

Bubble Workshop

  • When and where: 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 28 at Brush Crazy in Columbus 
  • Cost: $10.75
  • Info: Blow bubbles of different color onto various items ranging from canvas to ceramic and more. The $10 you pay will go toward the purchase of item, which cost anywhere from $20 to $100 or more

Cincinnati

Solstice Glow

  • When and where: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 28 and 29 at the Krohn Conservatory, located at 1501 Eden Park Drive in Cincinnati
  • Cost: $10 for adults, $7 for youth age 5-17 and free for anyone younger
  • Info: This daily event features holiday displays, model trains and more, celebrating the longest night. The event runs through Jan. 5

Light in the Forest

  • When and where: 5:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 27-29 at Rowe Woods
  • Cost: For members, the price is $14 for adults and $6 for children (3 and older). For nonmembers, the price is $18 for adults and $8 for children
  • Info: Spend some time outdoors among light displays and other activities on a 1-mile trek through the woods. Also enjoy a bonfire, music, food trucks and more at this event, which will end after this weekend

Dayton

A Carillon Christmas

  • When and where: 5 to 10 p.m. Dec. 28 and 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 29 at the Carillon Historical Park, located at 1000 Carillon Blvd. in Dayton
  • Cost: Tickets cost $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for kids, with children 2 and under being free. Tickets are also free to Dayton History members
  • Info: See the "park's 65-acre campus transformed into a winter wonderland of sparkle, magic, and holiday cheer" at this event also featuring cafes, Santa, shopping and more

Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland

  • When and where: 6 to 10 p.m. Dec. 28-29 at Fairgrounds & Event Center of Montgomery County, located at 645 Infirmary Road in Dayton
  • Cost: Show tickets are $29.95 per car, or an extra $20 to skip the line 
  • Info: If you've still got a bit more of that holiday spirit after Christmas, consider this drive through light showa at the fairgrounds, where the lights are syched to music

Toledo

Toledo Museum of Art's Great Art Escape

  • When and where: Dec. 27-29 at the Toledo Museum of Art
  • Info: Whether it's a flashlight tour, hot chocolate bar, scavenger hunt or even just watching Frozen or Frozen 2, there's plenty for the whole family to do at this art museum event to round out the holiday season

Caroling at The Ribbon

  • When and where: 12 to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 28 at The Ribbon at Glass City Metropark, located at 1001 Front Street in Toledo
  • Info: Straight out of a Hallmark Christmas movie, consider taking the time to listen to some carolers from the Sweet Adelines, Pride of Toledo Chorus and maybe strap on some ice skates while you're at it
