OHIO — Ohio State Highway Patrol has released its travel report from the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, which includes Wednesday Nov. 27 through Sunday, Dec. 1.
Eight people were killed in seven crashes on Ohio’s roadways. Three of the eight people were not wearing a safety belt, and one crash involved an impaired driver. According to the Patrol, that is the fewest deaths during the Thanksgiving holiday period since 2018.
Troopers arrested 247 people for operating a vehicle while impaired. Troopers also issued 569 safety belt citations and 297 citations for distracted driving violations.
