OHIO — Harvest will soon be over and ahead of schedule in the Buckeye State.

  • Of Ohio's winter wheat, 86% emerged from the soil

  • Farmers are also continuing fall tillage and fertilizer application

“Harvest is pretty well done,” said agriculture expert Andy Vance.

According to the latest United States Department of Agriculture Crop Progress Report, 96% of Ohio's corn crop was harvested the week ending Nov. 10

“[We are] well ahead of the five-year average; well ahead of where we were this time last year,” Vance said.

Meanwhile, 86% of Ohio's winter wheat emerged from the soil.
