FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office released the data on the fourth Operation Unity this year, which resulted in 15 felony arrests, 8 illegal guns seized and more.

“This coordinated initiative targets illegal activities such as thefts and drug-related crimes,” the release reads. “It also addresses the growing public concern over the rise in stolen vehicles, shots fired calls, and felonious assaults.”

The operation began on Nov. 14 and lasted 12 hours, bleeding into Nov. 15. The release states it was focused on Truro and Madison townships, “centering around the intersection of Chatterton Road and Noe Bixby Road.”

The sheriff’s office does confirm that—as part of the operation—a minor was arrested “for possession of an AR-15 style pistol.”

They also say they recovered a modified gun that made it fully automatic.

They also arrested an individual who had allegedly been operating a vehicle while impaired with two children in it. It also contained two illegal guns.

  • 16 citations
  • 15 Felony arrests
  • 11 misdemeanor arrests
  • 1 OVI arrest
  • 1 juvenile arrest
  • 8 illegally possessed firearms recovered
  • 3 grams of cocaine seized
  • 15 grams methamphetamine seized
  • 1 juvenile placed in a mentorship program

In addition to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Dallas Baldwin thanked the Columbus Division of Police, the Columbus City Attorney’s Office, the Franklin County Prosecutors Office and the Franklin County Chief’s Association.
