CLEVELAND — Police say they have made an arrest in connection with the street takeover that took place on Sept. 15 at West 25th and Lorain.

According to a press release from the Cleveland Division of Police, they have arrested Guage Michael Thomas Franklin, 18, of Akron on the charge of aggravated arson “in connection with fires at the street takeover.”

They say a vehicle that was involved has been towed from the location. They also have an arrest warrant out for John Alan Dietrich, 20, of Barberton.

On Wednesday, Cleveland Police Chief Dorothy Todd answered questions from city council members about the department’s handling of street takeovers, which occurred at more than a half-dozen locations over the weekend.

"This is a priority for the Division of Police,” Todd said. “This is a priority for the city and for the mayor."
