OHIO — Halloween is around the corner, which means soon, many neighborhoods will be decked out in skeletons, animatronics and one that officials are warning about — pumpkins.

But not just any kind of pumpkins; the small plastic ones with the handles that trick-or-treaters sometimes use.

The Ohio Division of Wildlife said wildlife, especially deer, may get curious as to what's in the buckets. When they stick their heads in, they could end up getting stuck.

"Most often we see that the plastic handle gets stuck on the head by the ears, and the deer has no way to get it off," the Ohio Division of Wildlife said in a Facebook post. "If you snip the handle from any of these that you plan to leave outside it just might save us all — and the deer — some strife."
