All it took was a few cool days, and the countdown to Halloween has begun.

As many have cracked open boxes of Halloween decor complete with skeletons, fake spiderwebs and spiders, it's fair to say the Halloween spirit is in the air. If you're looking to start celebrating a bit early, some of Ohio's amusement and water parks have you covered.

Here's when and where you can go.

Cedar Point

Cedar Point is hosting its HalloWeekends on select days/nights from Sept. 12 through Nov. 2.

At night, you can lean into the spooky season by navigating scary mazes and “scare zones.” That’s in addition to live shows and food. If that doesn’t get your heart pumping, the park says most of their rides should be open during HalloWeekends.

If you have young children, or if scary just isn’t your vibe, there are also non-scary seasonal events during HalloWeekends during the day. Those include a hay maze, trick-or-treating, The Magical House on Boo Hill, crafts and more.

If you truly don’t want to be scared, the park offers No Boo Necklaces for purchase at $15.99.

Kings Island

Kings Island is hosting its Halloween Haunt on select nights from Sept. 20 through Nov. 2.

The event includes scary mazes, live shows and “horrifying creatures” around the park. That’s in addition to the roller coasters and other rides.

Kings Island specifies that the event is not recommended for children.

They also sell no-boo necklaces, signaling that you do not wish to be scared. The necklace can be purchased for $16.99.

On Saturdays and Sundays from Sept. 22 through Nov. 3, the park is also hosting the family-friendly Tricks and Treats event that includes activites like costume contests, trick-or-treating, food/drink and more.

Great Wolf Lodge

The Great Wolf Lodge is hosting its annual Halloween celebration from Sept. 26 through Oct. 21.

During the month-long celebration, they’ll be hosting various activities ranging from crafts to dance parties to games. They’ll also have their Trick-or-Treat Trail available.
