CLEVELAND — Spooky season is right around the corner, and the fourth annual West Clinton Historic Haunts is returning to haunt the streets around Gordon Square.

The haunted walk is put on by Near West Theatre, alongside West Clinton Block Club and Bank of America. The haunts take place Oct. 3, Oct. 4 and Oct. 5.

  • Tickets cost $12 for ages 10 & up, and $5 for ages 2-9

On Oct. 3 the walk runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Oct. 4-5 it runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with tours departing every 10 minutes. Each tour runs approximately one hour.

"Near West Theatre is honored to once again partner with the residents of our neighborhood to produce this event for our fourth year," said Mike Obertacz, executive director of Near West Theatre. "Historic Haunts has become a signature community event bringing artists, families and the Gordon Square Arts District neighborhood closer together through creative and accessible storytelling."

Its a family-friendly, interactive tour the brings Cleveland's history together with urban legends as participants explore the Gordon Square Arts District.

Among those haunting the land are Cleveland figures including baseball player Ray Caldwell, Garret Morgan, who invented the traffic light, May Dugan, an Irish imiigrant who served as a one-person counselor service to her neighborhood, and Bessie, the Lake Erie monster.

Moth Man and Bloody Mary will also haunt the walks.

"The neighborhood is buzzing with excitement for this year’s three-day West Clinton Historic Haunts event where spooky Cleveland stories will be shared on neighbors’ front porches,” said David Mitalksi, member of the West Clinton Block Club.Everyone is eagerly anticipating the festive atmosphere and the chance to come together for some Halloween fun!"

The Walking Tours is a ticketed event which has sold out for the past three years. Organizers recommend purchasing tickets early. Tickets cost $12 for ages 10 & up, and $5 for ages 2-9.
