It’s another holiday weekend, which means many Ohioans will be looking for ways to spend the extra day off work.
If traveling isn’t part of your Labor Day weekend plans, there’s still plenty to do near home in the Buckeye State. Spectrum News 1 has gathered a list of events and activities happening around Ohio's major metropolitan areas this weekend.

- The Cleveland National Air Show: Aug. 31 – Sept. 2 at the Burke Lakefront Airport, tickets sold online only in advance
- The Greater Cleveland Aquarium: Aug. 30 – Sept. 2 will include free admission and parking for first responders and military
- Cleveland Oktoberfest: Aug. 30 – Sept. 2 & Sept. 6-7 at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, see website for exact times
- East Akron Labor Day Parade: 10 a.m. on Sept. 2 at 7th Avenue and Arlington Street
- The 2024 Made in Ohio Art & Craft Festival: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 30 – Sept. 1 at the Hale Farm & Village at 2686 Oak Hill Road in Peninsula, tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children
- Cleveland Taco Fest: Aug. 30 – Sept. 2 in downtown Cleveland, check website for exact timings
- The 11th Congressional District Caucus Labor Day Parade & Festival: 11 a.m. on Sept. 2 starting at 147th & Kinsman in Cleveland
- The 17th Annual Multi Music Fest: Aug. 31 at Cain Park – Evans Amphitheater at 14591 Superior Road in Cleveland Heights. Doors open at 4 p.m., and show starts at 5 p.m.
- Labor Day Parade: 9 a.m. on Sept. 2 in downtown Toledo, starting at North Summit Street and Monroe Street
- Sweet Summer Send-Off (ice cream social): 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 31 at 130 10th St. in Toledo
- Rocket Science Weekend: Aug. 31 – Sept. 2, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday/Monday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, at Imagination Station at 1 Discovery Way in Toledo
- Oktoberfest at The Fieldhouse: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 1 at The Fieldhouse at 1040 N. Westwood Ave. in Toledo

- Riverfest Labor Day Fireworks Event at Newport Aquarium: 6 p.m. on Sept. 1 at the Newport Aquarium in Newport Kentucky. Fireworks start at 9 p.m., and tickets cost $160 per person
- Boom on the Bridge: 6 to 11 p.m. on Sept. 1 at the Purple People Bridge at One Levee Way in Newport, Kentucky. Fireworks start at 9 p.m.
