The metroparks announced on Tuesday the return of two popular fall events: Touch-a-Truck and FallFest.

The 13th annual Touch-a-Truck allows children to get behind the wheel of around 50 vehicles to explore the big machines that help preserve the Cleveland Metroparks. The vehicles include bucket trucks, front end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, dump trucks, police cars and more.

The free event will take place at Brookside Reservation on Sunday, Sept. 22 and runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those who attend Touch-a-Truck also receive a $5 discount for the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

Then, on Sunday, Sept. 29, guests are invited to FallFest at the Meadows Picnic Area in Brecksville Reservation. The event takes visitors back in time to the 18th century with candle making, butter churns, blacksmith demonstrations, a magic show and more. New activities this year include hayrides, fall displays, photo opportunities, pumpkin crafts, archery and more.

FallFest will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and parking is free on site. Those who park at the Brecksville Nature Center will have a shuttle to get to the event.

“These two popular fall events are wonderful, free opportunities to engage in discovery and connect through hands-on learning,” said Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman in a release.
