Across the nation, the analysis shows that 63% of reported violent crime went unsolved in 2022. Florida topped the list of states for percentage of unsolved crime, with New Mexico taking second.

For Ohio, the rate of unsolved violent crime in 2022 was 71%, which the analysis establishes is 1% higher than 10 years prior.

According to CSG, Ohio had a violent crime incident rate of 294 per 100,000 residents, which they say is 3% lower than 2012 at 381 per 100,000 residents. They also note that Ohio’s crime rate in 2022 was 23% lower than the country’s average.
