CLEVELAND — As temperatures heat up this week, the National Weather Service has issued an Air Quality Alert for the greater Cleveland area through midnight on Monday through midnight on Tuesday.

The alert will be in effect for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit counties.

NWS warns the air quality will be unhealthy for sensitive groups during this time, which includes children, the elderly and those with breathing difficulties.

NWS offered these tips to help reduce air pollution in your area: bike, walk, use transit, work from home, combine trips, turn off your engines and don't idle, and wait to mow the lawn.
