OHIO — Cleveland Police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol are conducting several sobriety checking points heading into late August.

OSHP will be conducting OVI checkpoints on Aug 17.

The checkpoints will be in Crawford, Jackson and Portage Counties.

Cleveland Police will be conducting a sobriety check point in partnership with OSHP near East 9th St. and Prospect Ave.

The checkpoint will be in effect from 9 p.m. Aug. 25 to 1 a.m. on Aug. 26.

"The goal of this nitiative is to reduce the number of alcohol-related accidents and make the roadways safe for all drivers," Cleveland Police said in a news release.
