DAYTON, Ohio — Kettering Health is accepting applications for Hand Day, an event held each year that gives free hand surgeries to uninsured Dayton-area residents.
Candidates who are uninsured must be experiencing any of the following symptoms to be eligible:
- Numbness or tingling in the hands or fingers
- Fingers that get "stuck" or are difficult to move
- Painful lumps or bumps in hand or wrist
Prior to the event, eligible candidates should schedule a free one-on-one consultation before Sept. 5 to see if surgery is the right choice for them. After consultations, surgeries will then be scheduled for Sept. 15. The procedures will take place at the Kettering Health Hand Center of Excellence.
The online application can be found here, or individuals can call 937-558-0184. Applications are due before Sept. 5.
