CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns announced this week it's launching "Jr. Browns Backers," a kids club of the Browns.
The club is presented by University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s in association with Cardinal Credit Union, the Browns said.
“An integral part of our partnership with the Cleveland Browns is a shared dedication to caring for Browns fans of all ages,” said Patti DePompei, president of UH Rainbow and MacDonald Women’s hospitals in a release. “Expanding one of the largest fan clubs in the NFL to include the youngest fans allows us to connect with them in a fun and impactful way.”
The kids club is for children ages 4 to 12, and it'll include special members-only events, access to an online activity center and a quarterly newsletter emailed directly to parents and guardians.
"The ‘Jr. Browns Backers’ is an exciting new way to develop the next generation of Browns fans," said Brent Rossi, senior vice president of Marketing & Media, Haslam Sports Group, in a release. "This program will give us the opportunity to connect with our youngest fans and their parents by providing unique and exclusive ways to engage with the Dawg Pound.”
With the free memberships available, parents and guardians can get a premium membership for their kids for $30 a year. The membership includes one-of-a-kind gear and other materials, according to the Browns.
Those who are premium members will also be able to attend three in-person events during the year, which gives kids a chance to collect points and redeem them for prizes, such as a limited-edition Brownie the Elf hat, the chance to become a "kickoff kid" during a Browns home game and receive tickets to the game.
