OHIO — The Ohio Turnpike is warning people about the resurgence of scam texts, which have been requesting payments for unpaid tolls.

The Ohio Turnpike said it doesn’t request payments by text for E-ZPass customers. Additionally, it said collections of unpaid tolls or toll violations don’t happen by text, either.

The text messages will request unpaid tolls, then link a fraudulent website for payment.

The Ohio Turnpike said the only websites for E-ZPass accounts are ezpassoh.com and ohioturnpike.org.
