CINCINNATI, Ohio — Veterans and active or reserve-duty members of the military will ride free on Metro’s fixed routes and paratransit on July 20, in honor of Hamilton County Veterans Appreciation Day at the Great American Ball Park, according to a press release.

“We are proud to find new ways to continue to support Veterans in our community,” said Brandy Jones, chief communications and marketing officer of Metro, in the release. “By offering fare-free rides on Veterans Appreciation Day, we hope to make it easier for Vets to participate in the events and activities planned throughout the day.”

To take advantage of the free rides, you just have to show proof of military/veteran status via an ID card.

The Veterans Appreciation Day event takes place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday at the ball park and features free food, kids activities and resources for veterans.

Metro also reminds riders about the discount program they have for veterans: the Metro Veterans Program.

“By partnering with the Hamilton County Veterans Service Commission for Veterans Appreciation Day, Metro aims to demonstrate its dedication to the well-being and welfare of veterans and military members,” the release reads.
