CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Children's Healthvine has partnered with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Ohio to help health outcomes improve for Medicaid-enrolled children across eight southwest Ohio counties.

HealthVine is a pediatric accountable care organization which works with community and hospital-based providers to help coordinate services for children and their families. It aids those in Hamilton, Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Highland and Warren counties.

With its network of pediatric and other care providers, Healthvine supports optimal health and wellness outcomes including high-risk children and adolescents with social and medical complexities. It will help the hospital network and Anthem reduce health care cost by identifying effectve clinical practices.

“HealthVine’s collaboration with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Medicaid of Ohio will benefit many kids and families in Southwest Ohio,” said Dr. Jeff Anderson, a pediatrician and chief population health officer at Cincinnati Children's in a news release. “Cincinnati Children’s excels in coordinating the delivery of pediatric care and quality improvement as well as ground-breaking research to find cures and treatments. Anthem’s expertise in Medicaid managed care plans will help us provide personalized healthcare to meet the needs of children and families.”

Anderson oversees HealthVine with Kim Kaas, vice president for Operations-Population Health at Cincinnati Children’s.

Cincinnati Children's will collaborate with Anthem and the surrounding community to ensure vulnerable children receive the proper care in the proper setting including partnering with Federally Qualified Health Centers, health department clinics and community pediatricians.

Families will have access to primary and behavioral health services, Anderson said.
