OHIO — If you're looking for an easy road trip for the summer, a recent report ranked some states among the best places to take one and Ohio is near the top. 

The personal finance website WalletHub compared the 50 states based on 32 metrics covering three main categories: costs, safety and activities.

Here are the top 10 best places to take a road trip, according to WalletHub: 

  1. Texas
  2. Minnesota
  3. New York
  4. Louisiana
  5. Florida
  6. Ohio
  7. North Carolina
  8. Wyoming
  9. Maine
  10. Pennsylvania

Here are the top 10 worst places for a road trip:

  1. Delaware
  2. Rhode Island
  3. Connecticut
  4. Montana 
  5. Vermont
  6. Arkansas
  7. Hawaii
  8. California
  9. New Jersey
  10. Washington

Across the three main categories, Ohio ranked No. 21 for costs, No. 24 for safety and No. 13 for activities. Additionally, Ohio was ranked No. 2 for the lowest average cost of car repairs.
