HURON COUNTY, Ohio — The National Weather Service confirmed a brief tornado touched down in Huron County on Saturday, June 29.

The EF0 tornado touched down in Williard with an estimated wind peak of 80 miles per hour. The maximum width of the tornado was 25 yards and it traveled only 0.17 miles in total. It began and ended within one minute.

It touched down over a cornfield tracking north-northeast across Lisa Lane. Damage included tree limbs being torn off, including one being impaled into the ground according to NWS. A security camera captured the tornado going into the woods east of Lisa Lane and north of Egypt Road.

This is the 63rd tornado Ohio has seen this year, breaking the 1992 record of 62 tornadoes.
