COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Buckeye Country Superfest is officially underway. Tens of thousands of people are expected to show up all-weekend-long, and it's all happening during the hottest weekend in Ohio so far this year.

What You Need To Know

  • The Buckeye Country Superfest kicked off during the hottest weekend of 2024 so far

  • 60,000 people are expected to attend on Saturday and Sunday each

  • Water coolers, fans and water refill stands were available during the event

With temperatures in the 90s on Saturday and easing just a little Sunday, everyone's trying to cool off any way they can. Water coolers, fans and water refill stands were available for those enjoying the music performances.

Organizers say it's important for people to take advantage of that and drink plenty of water. They also suggest wearing light-colored, loose fitted clothing.

Luke Shelton is one of the fans trying to stay cool.

"It's brutal heat,” he said. “You're getting cooked out here, that's for sure. We had to dress light today, had to rock some shorts today and a cut off, definitely hydrating. We've already done some liquid I.V."

Organizers have also set up a text alert system to keep everyone in the loop throughout the weekend. To sign up for it, text BCS24 to 67283.
