CLEVELAND — Cleveland City Hall will once again be closed on Tuesday to the public, city officials said in a statement.

Cleveland officials confirmed Friday a ransomware attack is what shut down City Hall and Erieview for most of last week. Previously, the matter was referred to as a "cyber incident."

"We thank the public for their patience and understanding during this challenging time. City Hall remains committed to ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and services as we continue to recover from the cyber attacks," the city said in a statement.

The city said on Friday that the threat has been identified and contained, but the investigation is ongoing.

Last week, City Hall shut down Monday and Tuesday, reopened Wednesday, and then shut down again Thursday and Friday after officials encountered "some expected challenges" with their systems.
