COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus announced trash collection service won't be provided on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. 


What You Need To Know

  • Columbus officials said pickup will rotate forward by one day for residents assigned a color

  • For residents that don't have an assigned color, if collection day falls on or after the holiday, the trash pickup will be delayed by one day during the week of the holiday

  • Recycling won't be affected by Juneteenth

Columbus officials said pickup will rotate forward by one day for the following collection colors assigned to residents:

  • Wednesday, June 19: No collection
  • Thursday, June 20: Pink
  • Friday, June 21: Ruby
  • Monday, June 24: Gold
  • Tuesday, June 25: Gray
  • Wednesday, June 26: Navy

The city said the color-coded schedule will also rotate again on July 4. 

For residents that don't have an assigned color, if collection day falls on or after the holiday, the trash pickup will be delayed by one day during the week of the holiday, the city said. 

Recycling won't be affected by Juneteenth. 

Additionally, parking meters won't be enforced on Juneteenth as well.
