DAYTON, Ohio — The Dayton Police Department announced Wednesday it will bring back an eight-week program that aims to help young people who have experienced trauma.

The Outdoor Youth Adventures program was first introduced in 2022 and gives 23 young people an educational outlet to cope with post-traumatic stress and anxiety by going outdoors.

They will take part in a variety of activites, which includes a trip to the University of Dayton Arena where kids can take a tour and play basketball. Additionally, the activities include a tour of the Dayton Fire Department Academy, and they will also learn how to go bass fishing, BMX bike riding, learn self-defense and more.
