The press release from the governor’s office highlights that 2024 Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund grants will affect 36 Ohio counties.

“Local drug task force commanders know their area’s drug trade inside and out,” DeWine said in the release. “Providing this funding ensures more drugs will be taken off the street and more drug traffickers will be put behind bars."

The release states the funds are able to be used for investigating drug trafficking groups and disrupting the supply “through intelligence gathering, information sharing, and multi-agency coordination.”

In addition to enforcement, those funds are also able to be used to help overdose victims and their loved ones “through education, support, and treatment options.”

The fund is administered via the Office of Criminal Justice Services and is a part of the Drug Interdiction, Disruption, and Reduction Plan.
