OHIO — The next holiday is just around the corner. Easter brings friends, families and communities together through gatherings and events. Spectrum News 1 has compiled a list of Easter weekend events that you can enjoy.

Central Ohio

Egg, Paws and Claws: March 29 and 30 at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium 

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium are bringing back this Easter weekend event with egg ambassador meet and greets. It will also include the opportunity to take a photo with Sydnee Koala, Patriot Eagle, Cali Sea Lion and more, the Zoo’s character ambassadors. The Zoo’s character ambassadors also hid eggs across the zoo and if you find all the eggs, there is a prize. A musical adventure follows Eggbert, Shelley, Yolko and Oh-No as they roll their way through the Zoo on the Character Express. And don’t forget to take your photo with the Easter Bunny.

Village of West Jefferson Egg Hunt: March 30 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Converse Park (799 Converse Ave., West Jefferson, Ohio 43162)

The Village of West Jefferson, approximately 25 minutes west of Columbus, is hosting their free egg hunt. The event will offer free food, blow-ups and fun for all. The fun begins at 10 a.m., while the egg hunt begins at 11 a.m. The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures.

City of Bexley’s Egg Dash: March 30 starting at noon at Jeffery Meadow (165 N. Parkway Ave., Bexley, Ohio 43209)

From start to finish, this event only takes a few minutes. Organizers say the kids run really fast and it’s a mad dash to see who can collect the most eggs. The eggs are filled with fun treats and surprises and there is even a golden egg prize.

Historic Dublin Bunny Hop: March 30 from 2-5 p.m. in Historic Dublin

Enjoy this family-friendly event by picking up a Bunny Trail card from the Dublin Visitor and & Information Center or the Dublin Toy Emporium. Once received, hunt around the historic district for 12 bunnies. After you found each bunny, return the card to the Dublin Toy Emporium by 4:30 p.m. to receive a prize and be entered to win the grand prize.

Northern Ohio

Egg-Stra Wild Egg Hunt: March 30 from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Akron Zoo

The Akron Zoo is inviting all families to participate in their Egg-Stra Wild Egg Hunt. All egg-hunters will receive a bag of goodies following their egg hunt and hunters will be grouped by age. Children can get their photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny and enjoy crafts. If you are hunting for eggs, the cost of participate is $18. If you are a member of the zoo and are observing the event, there is no cost; however, non-member observers will cost $10 each. After the event ends, the Akron Zoo invites you to explore the various animals and exhibits it has to offer.a food truck on site. Organizers ask participants to bring their own bag or basket to carry the eggs.

Cuyahoga Falls Easter Egg Hunt: March 30 from 10 a.m. to noon at multiple locations

The 68th annual egg hunt will take place at Keyser Park (851 W. Bath Road, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223) and Waterworks Park (2025 Munroe Falls Ave., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221).

Children will hunt at their own pace for six different colored eggs hidden throughout the parks. Once all six colors are found, they will turn in their eggs for a bag of goodies, which is limited to the first 500 kids per park. Children will also have the opportunity to participate at a craft table.

City of Oberlin’s Easter Egg Hunt: March 30 from 10 a.m. to noon at Tappan Square (67 N. Main St., Oberlin, Ohio 44074)

The City of Oberlin is inviting everyone to their Easter egg hunt. Participants must be between the age of 2 and 12, and it is divided by age group. There is also a coloring contest, games and other activities. The city asks that participants bring their own basket or bag to collect the eggs.

Southern Ohio

Easter Egg Hunt: March 30 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Batavia Township Community Center & Park (1535 Clough Pike, Batavia, Ohio 45103)

The trustees, staff and community members of Batavia Township are hoping you join them for their Easter egg hunt. This year’s event will include two bounce houses, cotton candy, a train for the kids to ride, the Easter Bunny and more.

Montgomery Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt: March 30 starting at 10 a.m. at Montgomery Park (10101 Montgomery Road, Montgomery, OH 45242)

There will be three separate age groups: 1-3, 4-6 and 7-9. The Kiwanis will have 1000 eggs to spread across the area, with 100 special eggs that can be brought to the pavilion for a small prize.

Egg Hunt at Washington Park: March 30 and March 31 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Washington Park (1230 Elm Street Cincinnati, OH 45202)

Registration is required for this year’s event and organizers say “every-bunny” is invited. Kids of all ages can find the hidden eggs around the park, mark them off their list and get some egg-citing prizes. You can get your picture with the Easter Bunny and visitors can learn from an educational animal farm that will be on site. Register for the event here.
