SANDUSKY, Ohio — The Top Thrill 2 roller coaster at Cedar Point is set to officially open on the park's opening day on May 4, and testing is ongoing, according to the press release from the amusement park.

The ride was manufactured by Zamperla, and the release states that engineers from the company are "programming the strata coaster’s fully automated ride sequence, fine tuning the linear synchronous motor launch system, testing rider safety systems and running the metallic silver train through its paces."

According to the release, the coaster will be the world's tallest and fastest triple-launch roller coaster.

"Soon, all three of Top Thrill 2’s 20-passenger trains will be programmed to operate together, followed by additional ride commissioning, safety testing and state licensing," the release reads.
