CLEVELAND — The Brandywine ski resort decided to close for the season on Sunday, a last-minute decision that owners said was a "hard decision" to make.

In a Facebook post, owners said they could no longer compete with the warm weather trend.

"We can no longer compete with the low snow levels and adverse weather in the short-term forecast," the post said. "Thank you to the amazing team for their passion, dedication, and hard work this season. I am proud of our 60th season!"

However, the Boston Mills ski resort is still open with "a lot of snow." The resort plans to have its Winter Carnival on March 9.

Boston Mills and the Brandywine ski resorts are both owned by Vail Resorts. Another popular ski area in Ohio, not owned by Vail, is Snow Trails in Mansfield. Snow Trails is also still open and offering tubing and skiing until March 10.

Spring-like weather is making an appearance this week, with Monday starting out in the 70s for many areas. While there will be a slight dip in temperatures mid-week, highs are expected to jump right back into the 50s toward the weekend.
